此《福建省海岸全图》大约绘制于清代初期，作者不详。全卷由右向左，由北至南，以表现福建沿海地区军事驻防为主，描绘了福建沿海的城、府、卫、所、寨、堡、墩、台、炮台、铺、村、驿站、港湾、口岸等。此卷现藏于日本国立国会图书馆。

《福建海岸全图》采用陆地在上面，海洋居下，其视觉为从海洋看陆地，从敌寇来犯方向绘制。图中所表现的地理范围，南起广东潮州，北至浙江平阳县为止，沿海府县依次为：福宁府、福安县、宁德县、罗源县、连江县、福州府、闽安镇、长乐县、福清县、兴化府、莆田县、惠安县、泉州府、金门城、同安县、海澄县、厦门城、漳浦县、诏安县等。（蒋滨建）

福建省，简称“闽”，是中华人民共和国省级行政区。福建省位于东海与南海的交通要冲，是历史上海上丝绸之路、郑和下西洋的起点，也是海上商贸集散地。福建省地势西北高，东南低，呈“依山傍海”态势，境内山地、丘陵面积约占全省总面积的90%；地跨闽江、晋江、九龙江、汀江四大水系。
