此《童蒙必读书》由清代涂宗瀛辑编。全书包含：弟子规、小儿语、弟子职、程子四箴、范氏心箴、朱子敬斋箴、朱子小学题辞、陈氏忍字箴、性理字训、训蒙千字文等十四种家塾理学训蒙课本。此为清光绪九年武昌书局校刊本，手书上板，字大墨莹。

武昌书局，即江夏书局。清咸丰九年（1859年），湖北巡抚胡林翼创立于武昌，是最早的官书局。

涂宗瀛（1811—1894）号朗轩，一号阆仙，安徽六安人，清朝政治人物。举人出身。 道光二十四年举人。开始担任知县，奉两江总督曾国藩令办理军粮，保授江宁知府。同治八年接替杜文澜任苏松道道员一职， 同治十年由沈秉成接任，转任湖南按察使、湖南布政使。光绪二年三月十五，由湖南布政使升任广西巡抚。
